You provide information about sustainability to clients and employees of residential and work locations in an accessible, practical, and fun way.

Sustainability officer for the ECOsis bus

Do you educate clients and employees of Cosis about sustainability?

Cosis wants to contribute to a sustainable and livable world. We work on sustainable goals that benefit clients, employees, and society. We do this with a focus on health, energy conservation, biodiversity, reducing waste, and handling materials with care. At Cosis, we take small steps together. And it is precisely those small steps that can make a big difference.

What are you going to do?

As a volunteer on the ECOsis bus, you will visit various Cosis locations in Groningen or Drenthe. There, you will provide information about sustainability to clients and staff in an accessible, practical, and fun way.

You help people find answers to questions such as: what is sustainability actually? What can I easily do myself? To do so, you use materials from the ECOsis bus, such as games and examples about energy use, biodiversity, healthy eating and drinking, reducing waste, and other sustainable themes.

The goal is for as many people as possible who receive care or work at Cosis to become aware of their own influence. Not through large, complicated plans, but through small, achievable steps that fit into daily life.

This makes your volunteer work special

  • You literally bring sustainability to the locations.
  • You make sustainability understandable, concrete, and fun.
  • You work with clients and employees on awareness and inspiration.
  • You are given room to structure visits creatively.
  • You contribute to a movement within Cosis: good for each other, good for the world.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for several volunteers who are enthusiastic about sustainability and want to take good care of the earth. You don't need to be a sustainability expert. More important is that you are curious and creative, enjoy engaging in conversation with people, and like inspiring others with ideas. It helps if you know Cosis's target group or are willing to get to know them.

How does it work?

You schedule when you visit with the ECOsis bus yourself, in consultation with the locations. This can be spread throughout the year, on days and times that suit you and the location. On average, we request a commitment of two to three half-days per month.

You can make use of the materials that have already been collected for the ECOsis bus. Think of games, sample materials, and practical working methods. There is also a budget available to purchase new materials or develop them together. To visit locations, you can use a car or bus from Cosis.

You are not alone

As a volunteer, you can rely on the Sustainability Inspiration Team. This is a team of colleagues within Cosis that focuses on sustainability and inspiring locations. You will be part of this team and can join the meeting, which takes place once every three weeks.

What do you get in return?

  • A meaningful volunteer role where you can really make a difference.
  • A lot of freedom to use your own ideas and creativity.
  • Contact with clients, employees, and locations throughout Cosis.
  • Support from a dedicated inspiration team.
  • The opportunity to contribute to a sustainable organization and a livable world.

Something for you?

Do you want to help make sustainability closer, more understandable, and more enjoyable for clients and employees of Cosis? Then we would love to get in touch with you.

Getting there

About Cosis

Cosis believes that everyone should be able to participate in society in their own way, at their own pace, and according to their own capabilities. Every person has talents and potential. And everyone must be given the chance to utilize and develop these. The client's needs are central. Cosis wants everyone with a need for support to receive the help that best suits their needs. And they receive this help from the person who can best provide it. Early, fast, and close by. So that the person with the need for support can lead their own life as much as possible and maintain control over it.
