Are you an art lover who gets energy from connecting with people? Do you want to be part of the Thinking Hands exhibition (September 12 - November 1) at THEA in Niemeyer, Groningen? Then this volunteer position at Noorderlicht is perfect for you!
About the position
As a front desk employee, you are the first point of contact for visitors to the Thinking Hands exhibition. You welcome them, scan tickets, manage the mini-shop, and provide visitors with information about the exhibition. It is a role in which you are at the heart of the creative world of photography, technology, and art.
What are you going to do?
- Receiving visitors
- Selling and scanning tickets
- Managing our mini-shop
- Providing visitors with information about the exhibition and the program
- Provide guidance where necessary with completing surveys
- Option: giving guided tours to adults
- Option: help during the opening
What are you bringing?
- You have strong communication skills (our visitors mainly speak Dutch, English, and German).
- You have a friendly, professional demeanor
- You are good at multitasking and keep a cool head in busy situations.
- You are available for at least three hours per week during the period of the exhibition.
What do we offer you?
- The maximum volunteer allowance (€5.75) according to the 2026 guideline
- Free admission to all Noorderlicht exhibitions
- A social get-together for volunteers

- A friendly and professional attitude
- The ability to multitask and stay calm during busy periods
- Availability for at least three hours per week during the exhibition period
