Interesting or nice about this vacancy
Toys help children in their development. The work at the toy library is fun, varied, and flexible.
Tasks and duties
The Toy Library lends toys to families and institutions. During opening hours on Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings, two or three volunteers are present to lend out toys. You advise parents, count toy parts, process loans in the computer system, and register new members.
Skills and qualities
The task of collecting toys is fairly easy to master, and from there, the other tasks can be learned quickly. Computer skills are desirable.
The schedule is drawn up in consultation, and everyone can indicate how often they wish to work a shift (usually between 1 and 5 times per month). Volunteers are expected to honor agreements.
Additional information
Availability for both opening days is required.

About Speelotheek Groningen
De Speelotheek Groningen lends toys to families and institutions in Groningen and the surrounding area. In addition to lending ‘regular’ toys, the SOT also has a special collection of toys specifically for children with (physical or mental) disabilities. By borrowing toys, parents can try out different types of toys, select typical summer toys, borrow some extras for a children's party, or save costs. Since 2014, Speelotheek ’t Seinhuis and Speelotheek ’t Achterdeurtje have merged into De Speelotheek Groningen at the beautiful location on Fultsemaheerd in Beijum. Both toy libraries have a long history in the city of Groningen.
