Interesting or nice about this vacancy
You get to know many different cultures, and you meet people you probably wouldn't have met otherwise. You help people find their way in the Netherlands by teaching them the language.
Tasks and duties
As a language volunteer, you support the qualified NT2 teacher. Sometimes you work with a number of students in a small group, sometimes you go outside with a specific assignment, and sometimes you help people with their laptops.
Skills and qualities
Ideally, you have a teaching background, but this is not required. What you do need is empathy, a lot of patience, and a sense of humor.
Additional information
Many of our participants have had little to no schooling, so do not expect extensive grammar explanations. We focus on speaking Dutch and practice extensively with real-life situations.
The lessons are held at community center De Semmelstee and on Oldebarneveldlaan.
