Tasks and duties
Stichting De Weide Blik guides people who need a helping hand, so that they can take the next step, for example towards work or education. You will work alongside the regular support staff and assist them in supporting the participants.
You are an assistant support worker in one or more of the following work areas:
- Woodworking workshop; various manual tasks or assisting with wood activities with the participants.
- Garden: assisting participants with gardening activities (vegetables).
- Technical workshop: supporting participants' activities in repairing e.g. bicycles, farm carts, boats, and everyday objects, and making bicycle parts, among other things.
- Shop: help maintain the appearance of the shop, support participants in assisting customers in the shop, keep the shop clean.
- For a participation job, a work week of at least 16 hours applies.
Skills and qualities
- You are reliable and well-groomed.
- You have a knack for dealing with people who have disabilities.
- You must be able to work independently.
- You see the work that needs to be done and are eager to get started.
- You are able/willing to learn to work in a small team.
Additional information
- By cooperating and through your exemplary behavior, you help guide our participants during the activities.
- We believe it is important that you feel at home and fit in with the existing group. After an introductory meeting, you will join us for a few half-days to see what we can do for each other.
- If, after a work placement period, it becomes apparent that you possess professional knowledge and mentoring skills, a volunteer allowance is negotiable (provided no program is available). We will only make final agreements regarding this after a short work placement period.
