You are part of the Sedna Recovery Academy team. We carry the organization together, where everyone can contribute based on their own interests, qualities, and wishes for development. Sedna Recovery Academy offers room for growth to people in a recovery process. The organization consists entirely of people who have personal experience with this.
You will have the opportunity to develop skills in the areas of: working with people, leading groups, setting up and executing projects, networking, and publicity and information. There is room for talent development in your own way.
Do you want to use your own life experience to benefit others? Then you can participate in the internal training 'Recovery-Oriented Work' and advanced modules. The first year is open to everyone and gives you the space to explore your own recovery process.
Tasks and duties
As a team member of Sedna Herstelacademie, you can join one or more teams, depending on your strengths and interests. The tasks are diverse, including: welcoming guests, administration, organizing projects, gardening, leading groups, providing information, and more.
Hosting and facilities, such as:
- Host at Sedna in de Wijert
- Host at the Creative Workshop in Vinkhuizen
- Organizing the weekly lunch for visitors
- Small jobs in and around our spaces
Administration, organization and publicity
- Administrative tasks such as answering emails and course administration
- Pioneer for a mini LETS system (exchange circle)
- Setting up projects for young adults
- Networking, information, and standing at markets
- Writing for our blog on Substack
Working with people (after internal training)
- Assisting groups
- Organizing community events: expanding existing activities such as the walking hour, writing café, or collage club, or setting something up yourself.
- Introductory meetings with new participants
- Personal conversations / a listening ear
Skills and qualities
Sedna might be a good fit for you if you are someone who
- Has an open attitude towards different people
- Has the desire to develop and learn
- Has personal experience with dislocation and recovery
- Looking for a place where you can be yourself and meet like-minded people
- You have a sense of responsibility
- And you possess a certain degree of independence
