Confidential Contact Person
Most volunteers enjoy their work. However, you may encounter situations that are unpleasant or even feel unsafe because you are dealing—or have dealt—with unwanted behavior. This unwanted behavior can include bullying, intimidation, or sexually transgressive behavior. Perhaps someone keeps making ‘jokes’ that hurt you, you receive comments about your appearance or background, or you are being excluded? You can often discuss this with your volunteer coordinator, but that isn't always possible—for instance, if there is no coordinator, if that person is involved themselves, or if you fear the consequences.
Are you a volunteer or do you have a participation job in the Municipality of Groningen, and have you experienced unwanted behavior? If so, you can turn to the confidential contact person at link050. You can share your story, ask questions, or voice concerns with her in a calm and confidential setting. She will listen to you, take you seriously, and help you consider what you need. She will not take any action without your permission. Your experience might require more than just a conversation with a confidential contact person; in that case, we have the option to bring in a confidential counselor.
You can reach the confidential contact persons at link050 (Jeanine van Velzen–Talens or Heleen Doevendans) by calling 050 – 3051900 or emailing info@link050.nl.
