Interesting or nice about this vacancy

  • You contribute to better knowledge about autism in adults, from the perspective of people with autism themselves. You will become part of a team of more than 45 autistic adults.
  • This way, you get to know new people with autism. Our working methods are tailored to autistic characteristics.
  • You will be clearly told what is expected of you. We work with written job descriptions and guidelines.
  • You can do this volunteer work from home, from anywhere in the Netherlands or Belgium. All contact takes place via email, WhatsApp, and Microsoft Teams.

Tasks and duties

You can become active as a regular blogger in our project Autisme is Veelzijdig. You would then write a blog post occasionally about your own experiences.

What are the tasks

  • You write a blog post at least 5 times a year and a maximum of 10 times a year. You adjust your blog based on feedback from the editors.
  • You help raise awareness of the blog project, at least by sharing your own blogs within your own network.
  • Twice a year, there is an online meeting via Teams with the coordinator, the editorial team, and the other bloggers (if that is too overwhelming, we will look for an alternative format in consultation).

The amount of time you spend on a blog and processing the feedback received varies from person to person. The editorial team ensures that the blog is eventually published on the website. Therefore, technical knowledge is not required. You receive feedback from the editorial team on every blog you write.

When writing a blog, you are bound by the guidelines . These describe what we expect from a blog and what we expect from bloggers. Within the framework of the guidelines, you are free to write about whatever you want. After all, it is about your life and what is important to you. You can also find inspiration in our existing themes .

We also publish blogs every year about the theme of the NVA Autism Week (in the spring) and our own theme week (in the autumn). No blogs are published during the summer holidays.

Skills and qualities

For our blog, we are looking for adults with autism who enjoy blogging for an indefinite period. Because we want to provide a picture of autism based on personal experiences, only people with an official autism diagnosis participate in this project. The goal of the project is to showcase the multifaceted nature of autism. Therefore, more than ten different bloggers are blogging for this project. The following points are important for our bloggers:

  • You enjoy sharing your own experiences with autism with others.
  • You can write engagingly and clearly, or want to learn.
