About Buddy to Buddy
Buddy to Buddy Groningen is a foundation that pairs refugees with their fellow citizens of Groningen based on shared interests and equality. The goal is to break the social isolation of refugees and status holders and to involve Groningers more with those who are new to our city. By creating new encounters, we contribute to a friendly and connected city of Groningen, where everyone feels welcome and at home.
Over the course of four months, the buddies get to know each other better by spending time together weekly and opening up their world to one another. At the same time, we build an open and vibrant community of buddies, in which both newcomers and Dutch residents can expand their networks through organized activities. In this way, we contribute to the social integration of newcomers based on reciprocity.
