The Work and Income Client Council of the Municipality of Groningen gives residents of the municipality the opportunity to influence policy and regulations. This is done by means of (whether requested or unrequested) providing advice on policy proposed by the Municipal Executive and the Municipal Council regarding subjects such as employment, income, participation, minimum income and poverty policy, and debt assistance.
Providing requested or unrequested advice on (in any case):
- proposed policy to be adopted by the Municipal Executive or the Council;
- the budget drawn up for the Income Services Directorate;
- the policy objectives included in the budget;
- the evaluation of policy;
- the ordinances that must be drawn up pursuant to legislation to be implemented by the Income Services Directorate; and/or,
- other policy intentions that have major consequences for the position or treatment of clients.
