Interesting or nice about this vacancy
Enabling people with disabilities to participate in sports where participation (being active) is the most important aspect.
In addition, there is the possibility that the swimmer may occasionally participate in swimming competitions. The various regions of De Brug in the provinces of Groningen, Drenthe, and Friesland participate in these competitions. You can accompany them as a chaperone.
Tasks and duties
Provincial swimming competitions take place annually. Participation takes place in Special Olympics Netherlands at the national level. Occasionally, the group also enters international Special Olympics. The swimming season runs throughout the entire season, with the exception of school holidays. Swimming takes place on Tuesday evenings from 18:30 to 20:00. Swimmers travel to and from the venue by taxi. You are expected to be present from 18:15 to 20:00.
You will help people get into the water and assist with swimming. Some participants swim independently, while others need more help. There are also participants who sit quietly in the warmer pool. It is important that you ensure safety among the participants so that a pleasant and friendly atmosphere is maintained.
Skills and qualities
You must have some socio-pedagogical affinity with the target group.
Additional information

If you are required to do an internship as part of your studies, you are more than welcome.
