Tasks and duties
De Riepe is a monthly street magazine for the Northern Netherlands. It informs readers about topics relevant to the streets. De Riepe – the Groningen word for sidewalk – attempts to bridge the gap between the homeless and 'ordinary' citizens. Participation and gaining work experience play an important role in the production of the street newspaper. The target group of the homeless is therefore central. What we do is in their interest. They purchase the street newspapers and sell them. Of the selling price of €2.10, 90 cents goes to the seller.
We are looking for someone to help us on a voluntary basis for a few half-days a week with the administrative side of the distribution process and organizing things.
Skills and qualities
- Customer friendliness, because our participants (the homeless) could use some friendliness.
- Saying clearly and honestly how things stand without exaggerating, but also without hiding anything.
- Ensure that people adhere to certain standards of conduct as much as possible, but you do not always have to; sometimes it is not a good time.
- You can also discuss your observations with project management, and you can grow and learn from them yourself.
