Logeerhuis De Opstap - Stichting Waardig Wonen

De Opstap is a home-like and cozy guesthouse in Groningen for five guests.

The guesthouse welcomes guests who:

• Who are temporarily unable to rely on an informal caregiver, such as a partner or family member, because they need a break or want to get away for a while.
• Who, for example, would like to return home after a hospital stay but cannot yet sufficiently rely on their partner, family, neighbors, or friends, or for another reason.

The Waardig Wonen Foundation offers small-scale, Home-like living solutions for people with dementia. Simply in a street, neighborhood, or village. A home for five or six residents and a loving care team that is ready for them 24 hours a day. With time for a game, a walk, or an appointment outside the home. Because why should you stop leaving your living room when you have dementia? There are people in paid employment: care staff and support workers. In addition, there are volunteers.

The guesthouse welcomes guests who:

• Who are temporarily unable to rely on an informal caregiver, such as a partner or family member, because they need a break or want to get away for a while.
• Who, for example, would like to return home after a hospital stay but cannot yet sufficiently rely on their partner, family, neighbors, or friends, or for another reason.

There are volunteers, supported and guided by a coordinator, who together ensure a pleasant and comfortable stay.

There is no nursing, care, or medical or other treatment involved.
