Natuurmonumenten is the movement of people with a heart for nature. We want to touch the hearts of people, from young to old, and share the fascination with nature. We activate people to experience something wonderful outdoors in nature. Nature for everyone. Nature for children: OERRR. Nature for everyone also means nature for children. All children in the Netherlands have a right to nature. That is why there is OERRR by Natuurmonumenten. With the help of challenging OERRR cards, we let children discover nature. Children can head out on their own with the OERRR cards, at any time they wish.
Managing nature.
Natuurmonumenten manages more than 100,000 hectares of beautiful nature. From vast, robust nature to very small, but often very valuable areas. We manage all these areas on a tailored basis. Sometimes this means little to no intervention, while at other times it means regular mowing or pollarding to preserve unique communities. In this way, we preserve all those diverse landscapes and the associated nature that are so characteristic of the Netherlands.
