Tasks and duties
Every Sunday evening from 18:45 to 19:30, an ecumenical service is organized by Straatpastoraat de Open Hof, which homeless people can attend. There is a celebrant, a pianist, and three supporting volunteers are always present. As of February 1, 2026, this service will take place in the St. Joseph Cathedral.
The volunteers have the following tasks:
- Prior to the celebration: spread bread and make coffee/tea.
- Assist the celebrant during the service, in consultation with the celebrant.
- Leave the rooms (church, kitchen) tidy after the service.
Celebration volunteers should be available once or twice a month to assist with the celebrations.
Skills and qualities
We require a minimum age of 20. Furthermore, we expect an open, respectful attitude, an affinity with the target group of the Open Hof, and an affinity with liturgy. You are curious about people with very diverse backgrounds, both religious and non-religious. You are confident and enjoy working collaboratively.
