Red Cross volunteers are on standby during events and emergencies, including the volunteers of the Communications Service. The Communications Service is crucial for effective collaboration and coordinating deployment during events and emergencies. The Red Cross has its own two-way radios and mobile radios for communication during relief efforts. The size of the network can vary from two two-way radio users to an extensive network with its own control room. The Communications Service teams in Groningen, Drenthe, and Friesland are looking for new Communications Service staff!

Tasks and duties

• Preparing two-way radios and mobile radios for events.
• Preparing and building a network at major events.
• Preparing and setting up the control room at major events.
• Assisting your fellow volunteers with the use of two-way radios and mobile radios.
• Management and maintenance of the connecting equipment.

Skills and qualities

• You are customer-oriented, quality-oriented, and decisive.
• You are flexible, proactive, and able to work well with others.
• Experience with radio communication is a plus.
• Knowledge of networks and DMR systems is a plus.
• You are available 4 to 6 hours per week.
