As a Play Ambassador, you can spend the summer actively in various neighborhoods in Groningen. It is a fun way to connect with (new) people, develop your social skills, and dedicate yourself to the children of Groningen who normally cannot go on vacation. With your help, you will all experience a fantastic summer!
Tasks and duties
As a Play Ambassador, you will guide children (6-12 years old) during the Play Festival, which is organized in various neighborhoods in Groningen. During the Play Festival, all kinds of different activities are organized, such as sports activities, water activities, games, creative activities, and much more. You will assist the children with these activities. You will also have the opportunity to contribute your ideas to the development of the program.
Everyone aged 18 or older has the opportunity to use the camping facilities in the city of Groningen. You will be supervising in groups, so you can also sign up together with your friends! The Play Festival takes place in various neighborhoods during the summer holidays.
Skills and qualities
- Affinity with children.
- Ages 15 to 27.
- Organizing and supervising children's activities.
- Brainstorming creatively as a team about playful activities.
- Communication (getting children and parents excited).
- Logistics (ordering game materials, making scenery, etc.).
- Organization (contributing ideas regarding the future of the project, evaluating involved parties, etc.)
- Opportunity to assist in the preparation of the project.
Additional information
You need to be available for at least 2 weeks, but it would be even better if you came to help for several weeks! This involves four days a week, from Monday to Thursday.
