Improving the living conditions of miners' families, and particularly their children, through education, in and around Potosí. (Bolivia)
We support miners and schoolchildren in and around Potosí in Bolivia. Initiatives are developed on-site to improve living conditions; we conduct fundraising and support local volunteers. One of the unique aspects of our projects is that they are local initiatives; the ideas come from the population itself. They also contribute to the outcome themselves (in the form of labor) and become owners of the project. The mining town of Potosí (approx. 180,000 inhabitants is situated at an altitude of 4,090 meters, and the local indigenous population works in the mines under medieval conditions. The foundation has, among other things, built 7 water tanks for drinking water and carries out small and medium-sized projects at schools in and around Potosí. Such as computer projects, music education, sanitary facilities, school vegetable greenhouses, etc. Small projects, big effects!
