About Stichting Grasnapolsky Festivals
Grasnapolsky is committed to repurposing existing monuments as event venues by extensively immersing the public in the story of a specific place. After several years in Scheemda, this year we are setting up shop in the city of Groningen and the Zeefgebouw on the Suikerunie site. To bring such a special location to life, Grasnapolsky seeks collaboration with local heritage professionals and local entrepreneurs—preferably as much as possible from the immediate vicinity, from the beverage supplier to the storytellers for our route program. Grasnapolsky creates experiential worlds where culture and nature, architecture and history come together around the story of a special (heritage) location. Grasnapolsky's core values are discovery, connection, and awareness. The festival implements these core values down to the smallest detail to provide the audience with a total experience during the festival. A microcosm is created in which intimacy, authenticity, and attention take center stage. Through music, art, performance and storytelling, history, nature education, dance, and theater, with the theme and location as the common thread, Grasnapolsky allows the audience to marvel and discover something new time and again at beautiful heritage sites and in nature.
