About Stichting Groningse 4daagse

The Groningse 4daagse Foundation has the following objective: To organize (four-day) events, including to make Groningen known to a wider audience, expressly including – but not limited to – events in the field of walking, and furthermore everything related to, belonging to, and/or conducive to this in the broadest sense. The foundation is non-profit and is committed to strengthening connection, vitality, and community spirit through accessible events, with the Groningse 4daagse as the annual highlight.

In 2025 and subsequent years, the foundation is committed to the following: Main event: The Groningse 4daagse (August 5 to 8, 2025): a four-day walking event with routes of 20 and 40 kilometers, with daily start and finish at the Grote Markt in Groningen. Further duties: • Daily organization and preparation of the event. • Recruitment and supervision of volunteers. • Collaboration with social and cultural partners. • Agreements with municipalities, safety partners, and suppliers. • Promotion, communication, and ticket sales. • Potential side activities, such as music, local markets, or educational projects related to walking and health.
