About Stichting LeRoy Groningen

The LeRoy Groningen Foundation aims to develop, preserve, and strengthen the LeRoy area in Lewenborg: over six hectares of open urban nature that runs straight through the neighborhood. This special area was designed according to the ideas of landscape artist Louis Le Roy and forms a place where nature, time, and people come together. The foundation is committed to ensuring that this unique form of urban nature can continue to develop, supported by residents, volunteers, and new generations. The LeRoy Groningen Foundation organizes and supports activities in the LeRoy area: a nature reserve of over six hectares that flows through the Lewenborg neighborhood. Volunteers work here on nature management, planting, and maintenance, and on the development of various places such as the Ecocathedral, the Willow Forest, the Food Forest, the orchards, and the Pinetum. In addition, the foundation facilitates vegetable gardens for residents and educational gardens for children. Guided tours, nature workdays, coffee mornings, and activities for schools are organized.

The LeRoy area is thus both a place for nature and a social meeting place, where residents work, learn, and further shape the area together.
