About Stichting Mentorschap Noord

Advocating for the personal interests of an adult who is no longer capable of doing so themselves and who has no family to act on their behalf. As a volunteer mentor, you support the client in making decisions regarding care and well-being. The goal is to ensure that people with disabilities receive care that addresses their specific care needs, and that they can continue to participate in society in a style and with the capabilities that suit them. Stichting Mentorschap Noord is a member of Stichting Mentorschap Nederland.

Stichting Mentorschap Noord: - works with professional and motivated volunteer mentors; - supports / coaches the mentors so that they meet the quality requirements set by the court; - provides training, education, and peer supervision; - authorizes the mentor to make decisions together with or on behalf of the client regarding care, well-being, housing, daytime activities, etc. - works closely with any family, care providers, and administrators. The mentor spends an average of 6 hours per month on her/his client and explores the possibilities for her/him to continue participating in society for as long as possible.
