About Stichting Stadsboerderij De Wiershoeck

De Wiershoeck, founded in 1981, is a day care farm and volunteer enterprise with the objective of offering people from all backgrounds a meaningful way to spend their time through all activities in the garden, the workshop, and on the farm. We work in a sustainable manner as much as possible.

De Wiershoeck has been designated as a General Facility, an accessible facility for anyone who wishes to participate in a sustainable garden project.

In the 1-hectare garden, cut flowers and vegetables are grown; there is a beautiful herb garden, a few ornamental gardens, soft fruit, and fruit trees, especially old varieties.

Part of the fruit is preserved during the summer months.

Among other things, a bouquet workshop is located in the farmhouse, where fresh bouquets are made daily from April to November using cut flowers from the land.

Many flowers, seeds, and leaves are dried starting in June and are incorporated into winter wreaths during the last months of the year.

There is a creative workshop where courses are given under the guidance of an artist.

There is also a woodworking workshop. where products are made to order and where a lot of odd jobs are done for the farm and in the garden.

For most months of the year, small live concerts are held in the garden or indoors; our catering department takes care of those afternoons.

Housekeeping is also important here. Weekly, soup is made or something delicious is baked to go with coffee.

Every Monday there is a free Soup Drop-in which is very popular.

Every season, an extensive seasonal meal takes place. Cost 6 euros.

During the winter months, a winter program is offered; workshops, lectures, etc.

A new initiative is the unique children's parties that Grandma Rabbit organizes here. In the garden and in the studio, a combination of creative work and playful activities is offered.

Pancakes are baked; it is a real children's party. Information? oma.haas@outlook.com

We work as sustainably as possible.

The work is varied and the atmosphere is stimulating and lively.
