Interesting or nice about this vacancy
- Through your contribution to the children's activities, you make it possible for children, including those living far below the poverty line, to participate in a fun and creative activity, while also being introduced to various textile crafts.
- You may contribute your own ideas about what children can do with textiles.
- You may use the textile workshop for yourself for the same number of hours that you spend on the children's activities. This workshop contains sewing, overlock, coverlock, and industrial sewing machines, high cutting tables, and so on.
Tasks and duties
- Guiding children (8-12 years) in making a textile project.
- Help organize children's activities in the field of textiles
- Guiding or assisting at a sewing lab for kids
- Contributing ideas regarding the content of children's activities in the field of textiles.
- You do this together with other volunteers who supervise children's activities.
Skills and qualities
- Creative with textiles.
- Be able to clearly explain an assignment to children.
- Giving positive feedback to children.
- Patience.
- To collaborate.
Additional information
At the moment we are organizing:
- 8 annual workshops for children in out-of-school care: 4 in Feb-April and 4 in Sept-Nov.
- The Sewing Lab consists of a series of 5 lessons. From Jan-May, 3 series of 5 lessons, and from Sept-Nov, 2 series of 5 lessons.
- If we have enough volunteers, we also offer children's parties on request.
