If you enjoy walking, cycling, swimming, or going out to the playground or zoo with children with a disability, then you have come to the right place.
Volunteer wanted for the weekends at a group home in Haren!
Children aged 6 to 12, all of whom have a visual and multiple disability, live at the residence. Almost all the children at this home can walk and are very adventurous. We would therefore like to do fun activities with them on weekends to further stimulate their development. Examples include: going to the playground on our grounds, walking, riding in a rickshaw or wheelchair bike, going for a swim, visiting the petting zoo, or even the zoo. You will always work alongside a familiar permanent staff member who is trained for the children's specific needs.
Would you like to lend a hand every now and then? We would be incredibly happy about it! 🌸

About Visio de Heukelom
Visio De Heukelom
Koninklijke Visio is the center of expertise for visually impaired and blind people, and for anyone with questions about living with a visual impairment. At the De Heukelom residential and day care facility in Haren, children and young people with multiple visual impairments live, stay, and reside. Seeing less or nothing at all presents challenges. Combined with a multiple impairment, this requires specialized guidance, treatment, and a safe environment in which children can develop in their own way and at their own pace.
At Visio, we focus on what *is* possible. We believe that every child has the potential to grow, discover, and develop. That is why we offer an environment in which children are encouraged to gain new experiences, develop skills, and participate as much as possible, in a way that suits them.
Play, movement, communication, experience, and learning form an important part of daily life at De Heukelom. Together with parents, relatives, and other involved parties, our staff work on the development, well-being, and happiness of every child.
