You make an important difference in the lives of these neighborhood residents. It is nice that you tidy up their homes, but the fact that you are there, offer a listening ear, and bring a sense of community is actually much more important.

Tasks and duties

You assist the resident with light household chores, such as vacuuming, washing dishes, cleaning the bathroom, grocery shopping, wiping down kitchen cabinets, etc. You assess and discuss what is needed on a case-by-case basis. These neighborhood residents are unable to do much on their own but do not (yet) have an indication for home care.
Furthermore, you are pleasant company for the resident, and you make contact during coffee, a game, or a walk.

Skills and qualities

You are a go-getter with a practical nature. You are also caring and enjoy a friendly chat or a game. You bring cheerfulness to these people, who are often lonely.
