As a volunteer with the choir, you accompany residents with dementia during the singing activity and provide music, social interaction, and personal attention.
Do you bring music, memories, and good times together?
For location De Dilgt, we are looking for a committed and reliable volunteer to help with the weekly PG choir for residents with dementia. Do you love music, do you want others to experience this too, and do you enjoy giving the elderly a pleasant morning? Then we are looking for you!
What are you going to do?
Music has a special power. Familiar songs can evoke memories, stir emotions, and create connection. During the PG choir, singing together and meeting others take center stage.
As a volunteer, you help with the preparation and guidance of the choir and ensure a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Your duties include, among other things:
- setting up the space and materials;
- receiving and guiding residents;
- encourage residents to sing along and participate;
- provide support during the activity;
- ensure a pleasant and safe atmosphere;
- have a chat and give personal attention;
- Help wrap up and clean up afterwards.
Dementia and personal attention
Residents of the dementia ward have dementia. As a result, it is possible that someone may need extra support, encouragement, or reassurance. That is precisely why your presence is so valuable. Sometimes it is not just about singing, but also about making contact, encouraging participation, and creating a moment of recognition, fun, and togetherness.
When?
The PG choir meets weekly on Thursdays from 10:30 to 11:15. As a volunteer, you are present from 10:15 to 11:30 for the preparation, guidance, and conclusion of the activity.
And you?
- You are people-oriented and social, with an eye for the needs of the elderly.
- You have an affinity with the target group (elderly people with, for example, dementia or somatic conditions).
- Experience is not necessary; enthusiasm and commitment are more important.
What do we offer you?
At ZINN, we value the dedication of our volunteers! That is why we invest in a warm welcome, good guidance, and plenty of opportunities for personal development. You will be part of a committed organization where your contribution truly makes a difference for residents and clients. In addition, we offer free training, inspiring gatherings, an end-of-year gift, appropriate expense reimbursements, and ensure you are well insured. This way, we ensure that you can do volunteer work with pleasure, confidence, and appreciation.
Something for you?
Do you enjoy giving residents a musical morning full of fun and beautiful memories? Then sign up without obligation!
