About @ease
Do you want to make a difference for other young people in Groningen? Then volunteering at @ease might be for you. As a volunteer, you offer a listening ear to peers who are not feeling their best. You do this at our drop-in center in Groningen and via the online chat.
About@ease
@ease is there for young people between the ages of 12 and 25 who want to vent. About stress, issues at home, pressure to perform, or simply because they are feeling stuck. The heart of @ease is formed by young volunteers: our peers. This peer-to-peer approach is unique in the Netherlands and proven effective. Because research shows that young people feel safe, seen, and heard precisely because they can talk to someone their own age who does not immediately make a diagnosis, but simply listens.
Volunteers As a volunteer, you conduct conversations with the young people together with another volunteer. You will be trained in advance in the @ease conversation techniques, where good listening is central. You discuss the conversations afterwards with the center's supervisor. Job requirements You are motivated and committed to helping young people. You possess the following qualities: reliability, empathy, curiosity, and good communication skills. You are available 12 hours per month (3 to 4 shifts of 3 hours). You are willing to work according to the @ease concept. You want to commit to bringing @ease to the attention of young people. You can handle any personal issues in a healthy way. A second language besides Dutch is a plus. What do we offer? You gain experience in listening to and conducting conversations with young people. You receive training in the @ease concept and the associated conversation techniques. You receive guidance and peer supervision together with fellow volunteers, led by an experienced professional.
