Cycling together with people with disabilities. Providing guidance during the bike ride and ensuring safety in traffic.
You make someone's day better! For many people with a disability, going outside together is something they look forward to immensely. You are actively engaged instead of just working indoors. You are outside, moving, and in different places. In doing so, you build a bond with the participant/client. Cycling together often leads to wonderful conversations, trust, and a sense of camaraderie. You give someone back their freedom and independence. With a tandem bike, they can still enjoy exercise and nature. Naturally, you ensure safety during a bike ride.
The tasks are: planning routes, observing how someone feels during the ride, motivating, and reporting to supervisors how the cycling went.
