Frequently Asked Questions

For organizations

Which organizations are allowed to work with volunteers?

Volunteer work is work that you do unpaid and without obligation, for others or for society. If you wish to work with volunteers as an organization, you must not have a profit motive (you are not liable for corporate income tax). The work does not cost the labor market any jobs and does not replace a paid job. These are associations, foundations, or residents' initiatives. If you would like to read more information about this, please visit the website of the Tax and Customs Administration.

Are there any costs associated with the services of link050?

Link050 is subsidized by the Municipality of Groningen. This allows us to offer our services and job board free of charge.

What about the volunteer allowance?

As an organization, you can pay volunteers a reimbursement. The organization is not obligated to do so, and it often depends on their financial capabilities. Maximum amounts have been set for the payment of volunteer reimbursements. Read more.

Does a contract or a volunteer agreement need to be signed?

It is not mandatory to sign a volunteer agreement or contract. However, it can be useful to put agreements in writing, for example regarding the compensation you receive and the nature of the duties. This prevents ambiguity.

How are volunteers insured when they come to work for my organization?

Your organization and your volunteers are automatically insured through the collective volunteer insurance of the Municipality of Groningen.

You can find more information about this on the website of the Municipality of Groningen.

The Municipality of Groningen has taken out its volunteer insurance with Centraal Beheer. You can find more information about this on the Centraal Beheer website .

Can I get help using the job board?

The team at link050 would be happy to help you use the job board, for example to create an account or post a vacancy. Please feel free to contact us.

Does link050 also provide subsidies itself?

Link050 does not provide grants. However, we do have an employee who can work with your organization to determine which funds or grant providers you could apply to. For more information, click here.

Link050 does manage the Fonds Goed Idee on behalf of the Municipality of Groningen. This is a fund aimed at children and young people growing up on a tight budget. Read more.

Could you promote the vacancies a bit more?

We can display the vacancy in our shop window, promote it in local neighborhood newspapers, draw attention to it on social media, or include it in our advertisements in the (digital) newspaper the 'Groninger Gezinsbode'.

If you would like more information about this, please feel free to contact us or check our knowledge center.

How do I write an attractive job advertisement?

With a vacancy, you want to appeal to volunteers. You do not offer a salary to attract volunteers, but fortunately, there are other factors that can provide motivation. Take that as a starting point for your vacancy. Start with yourself. What would be your reason for doing volunteer work? Socializing? Belonging somewhere? Gaining experience?

How long does a job vacancy remain online?

A vacancy remains online for 60 days by default. The system automatically sends you a message within those 60 days so you can extend it. If you do not extend it, the vacancy is archived and is no longer visible to potential volunteers. You can always reactivate the vacancy.

I have forgotten my login for the job board.

If you can no longer log in as an organization because you have forgotten your password, you can always request a new password. The system sends a link with a temporary password to the email address known to us. The link is valid for 24 hours to log in, after which you can create a new password yourself.

If you no longer know which email address you use to manage the account, you can request it by contacting us.

Is my organization also eligible to apply for a VOG free of charge?

As a volunteer organization, you can ask volunteers to provide a Certificate of Conduct (VOG) at the start of their work. This often applies to organizations that work with confidential data, vulnerable individuals, money, or goods. A VOG is a statement confirming that their past conduct poses no objection to the work to be performed. It is possible for various organizations to apply for the VOG for their volunteers free of charge .

How do I draw up a good volunteer policy?

As an organization, it is essential to have a good volunteer policy. An organization that implements a clear volunteer policy demonstrates that thought has been given to the place and significance of volunteers within the organization.

How do I stay informed about new developments?

It is advisable to subscribe to our newsletter for organizations. Sign up for the newsletter here. Additionally, as an organization, you can always consult one of our advisors for a personal meeting. To contact one of our advisors, send an email to info@link050.nl or call 050 – 3051 900.

How do I get in touch with other volunteer organizations?

To connect with other volunteer organizations, you can keep an eye on our website for the meetings we organize. Examples include: the buddy meeting for volunteer coordinators and the board festival.

Additionally, you can drop in on another organization or neighborhood markets and make contact there. In our job board, the contact details of the volunteer coordinators of the relevant organization are often listed alongside the vacancies. You are free to make connections with one another. If you would like our help with this, please feel free to contact us.
