Enabling the disabled person to participate in sports where participation (being active) is the most important aspect. Afterwards, there is the possibility to participate in swimming competitions. The various regions of De Brug in the provinces of Groningen, Drenthe, and Friesland participate in these competitions.
Tasks and duties
Provincial swimming competitions take place annually. Participation takes place in Special Olympics Netherlands at the national level. Occasionally, the team also enters international Special Olympics. The swimming season takes place throughout the entire season, with the exception of school holidays.
It is possible to swim for a diploma.
Swimming takes place on Monday evenings from 18:30 to 19:30. Swimmers arrive and depart by taxi. You are expected to be present from 18:00 to 20:00.
Skills and qualities
- Diploma for Swimming ABC Instructor, Lifeguard, First Aid, or MFA.
- You must have an affinity with the target audience.
- You lead volunteers.
Additional information
The new swimming season starts the second week of September.
