Interesting or nice about this vacancy

The nice thing about working at Leergeld is making the children we help happy by donating swimming lessons, a bicycle, leisure activities, school supplies, or gym clothes (and more). We regularly receive positive messages from parents, drawings from children, or compliments over the phone.

We have a relaxed atmosphere and are flexible regarding working from home or the office.

Tasks and duties

As a contact person/intermediary, you help children from low-income families. In our experience, it is rewarding work. Many families are happy with our help and the visit of an intermediary during a home visit. This makes us happy too.

  • You contact the client by phone to hear her request for assistance and make an appointment with the client for a home visit.
  • You visit the client at home and discuss what Leergeld can mean for the family.
  • You build up a "file" and submit an application to the Leergeld office.
  • Be available for at least 8 hours per week, preferably 2 half-days. For a participation job, a minimum of 16 hours per week applies.

For example, one can apply for financial support for gym clothes for school sports, swimming lessons, or a bicycle to get to school or a club. We also help children in secondary education so that they can participate fully. Additionally, we believe it is important that a child can play sports, take music lessons, or engage in another form of leisure activity. An average home visit lasts half an hour to an hour.

Skills and qualities

  • You make contact easily or you are willing to learn.
  • You have good speaking skills.
  • You have no problem working digitally.
