Parkinson's is a condition that visibly leads to slowness, stiffness, and tremors. The mental changes are not visible.

How does it work?

You teach the course together with another trainer. A trainer duo consists of someone with and someone without Parkinson's. The course is offered during the day and consists of 9 consecutive 2-hour sessions. A different topic is central each week. Course materials are available for participants and a manual for trainers.

What's in it for you?

Being a volunteer trainer means more than just doing something for others, which naturally provides a lot of satisfaction. You also gain a great deal yourself by hearing about the experiences of others. You meet new people, learn from others, and develop new skills.

What do we expect?

We expect you to have an affinity with Parkinson's and some experience working with groups. You take the initiative to organize the course yourself. You are willing to prepare and deliver the course together with another trainer. Given the clear structure of the course, enthusiasm is more important than a teacher or trainer qualification.

What do we offer?

At the Parkinson's Association, we answer your questions and think along with you. We support you with, among other things, recruiting participants. You will receive the materials used in the course. There is an annual meeting day for all trainers of this course. During this day, you have the opportunity to share experiences with other trainers.

Contact

Do you have questions or are you interested in teaching the course? Please contact the Parkinson Academy. Call Coby Pronk on 06 1893 8399. Or send an email to academie@parkinson-vereniging.nl.
