About St. Klompenmuseum Gebr. Wietzes

Purpose as described in the Articles of Association: The Foundation aims to: a. acquire and retain ownership of immovable and movable property as well as manage such property, all for the benefit of the Gebr. Wietzes Clog Museum operated by the Foundation. b. manage the financial administration of the said Clog Museum and the administration thereof; and furthermore, anything that is directly or indirectly related to the foregoing or that may be conducive thereto, all in the broadest sense of the word.

Mission Statement The Clog Museum possesses national and international collections of clogs, footwear with wooden soles, wooden soles, tools, machines, and documentation. The presentation of the collection, together with education, forms the basis of the museum. The museum focuses on a broad audience and aims to amaze the public through presentations of national and international significance, thereby allowing them to experience the value of cultural heritage. Promoting study and research opportunities and making parts of the collection available externally are also key policy priorities. There is collaboration and contact with clog makers and clog museums both domestically and abroad. Loans are given and received nationally and internationally. The board has the ambition to be and remain the leading museum and center of expertise worldwide in the field of clogs, footwear with wooden soles, and wooden soles.
