Ecological management and maintenance of our public garden featuring wild, native plants and flowers. Providing a habitat for flora and fauna. Being a link in the network of nature of which humans are a part. Offering a counterbalance to the often unknowingly destructive and nature-undermining behavior of humans: individuals, organizations, municipalities, the province, etc. Education, including for adults. Promoting respect, care, diligence, love, and enjoyment of nature. In short: cooperation with the dynamic nature that surrounds us.
As part of the City Park, we are a large public (3 ha.) garden. Tucked away in a corner of the City Park, this garden has been supported by volunteers since the late 1990s. The ecological management results in a great diversity of flora and fauna. This is made possible by knowledge and carefulness in the approach. There is a lot of work to be done. Anyone who feels inspired will soon be working around 20 hours a week.
If you would like to do a trial run, that is always possible.
