The rest stops of the Groningen Four Days Marches are oases for walkers – and you are their peace-bringer there. You help participants with water, a place to sit, and a listening ear, and are their fixed point of contact during the walk.
The Groningen Four Days Marches is the new walking event of the Netherlands, where sportsmanship, culture, and conviviality come together. From Tuesday, August 4 to Friday, August 7, 2026, you will walk in four stages through the best Groningen has to offer – from the bustling city center to the tranquility of the vast Ommeland. With daily start and finish at the atmospheric Grote Markt, up to 3,000 participants can choose from distances of 20 or 40 kilometers.
Tasks and duties
- Receiving participants at rest stops.
- Provide explanation regarding facilities (toilet, first aid, route).
- Easy dispensing of water or snacks.
- Assistance with any questions or discomfort.
Skills and qualities
- You are patient, caring, and friendly.
- You enjoy interacting with people.
- You radiate both calm and energy.
Additional information
- You are at a fixed rest location or a changing point.
- Food and drinks are naturally well taken care of.
- You choose your own shift, and you are always welcome to join for multiple days.
