About Stichting Nieuw Nabuurschap
'Promoting the social integration of people with long-term psychiatric problems' is a fairly general description and is interpreted broadly. Social integration is the process that leads to increasing opportunities to participate in society. At Nieuw Nabuurschap, the emphasis lies on promoting and creating opportunities that can lead to social integration and, consequently, to a better quality of life for people belonging to its target group, namely people with long-term psychiatric problems.
Based on our mission, four projects have been established: the Tax Shop, the Paperwork Shop, and the Handyman Service. Through these departments, Nieuw Nabuurschap offers free financial and administrative services for (mentally) vulnerable people. Greater financial leeway increases their opportunities to participate in society as citizens. In addition, the Belastingtoko, the Paperassentoko, and the Klusburo offer work-related daytime activities for people with long-term psychiatric problems.
