About Stichting schaakfestival Groningen
For over 60 years, we have been organizing an international Chess Festival in Groningen at the end of December. We have a large open tournament, as well as four-player groups and other tournaments. In addition, there is a youth chess tournament, a draughts tournament, and since 2024, a chess tournament for all employees of the University of Groningen and Hanze University of Applied Sciences.

Executive work around and during our Chess Festival in the week before Christmas
This comes back every year: our chess tournament lasts 7 days, and there is setting up, hauling, and taking down to be done. There is also more possible: transport, social media, etc.
