Become a volunteer with the Garden Team in the Oosterparkwijk and help local residents enjoy their gardens again.
In the Oosterparkwijk, there are many houses with small gardens. Many people enjoy their patch of greenery. However, for some residents, it is difficult to keep their gardens well-maintained. Mowing the lawn, trimming the hedges, and pruning become impossible. In that case, the Garden Team can offer a solution. This team consists of a group of dedicated volunteers who head out every week to help residents in the neighborhood with the maintenance of their gardens. We are looking for volunteers with green fingers for the Garden Team.
What are you going to do
The Garden Team works on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 09:30 to 12:00. We always start with a cup of coffee and then head out together. Together with the other volunteers, you will get to work in the gardens of residents in the Oosterparkwijk who are no longer able to maintain their gardens themselves. Think of the elderly or people who could use some extra help due to circumstances. Together, you ensure that their gardens are tidy again. Your tasks may consist of:
- Pruning shrubs and plants
- Trimming hedges
- Remove weeds
- Other light garden maintenance
What we ask of you
Experience is not necessary; enthusiasm and a practical attitude are! And furthermore:
- You enjoy working outdoors.
- You are sociable and enjoy working with others.
- You are physically capable of performing gardening work.
- You are available for a few hours a week on Monday or Wednesday mornings. You decide in consultation how often you want to participate.
