As a volunteer at one of our locations in the city center of Groningen, you will meet people who have lost control over their lives due to circumstances. At Wender, we offer them a safe, trusted place where they can build their future and (re)discover their talents.
You will join a dynamic team where you will be paired with a buddy who will show you the ropes in our organization. In addition to the volunteer coordinator, the buddy is your permanent point of contact within the team.
In addition, you will receive gratitude from residents and have beautiful, valuable encounters. You can truly make a difference for others. Three times a year, we organize a volunteer meeting with interesting topics, and you can take advantage of additional training courses such as Motivational Interviewing and SCORE (handling unwanted behavior).
Tasks and duties
Thanks to your efforts, our residents get creative. For example, by organizing activities such as cooking, painting, drawing, or an outing. In this way, you help them establish a routine in their day. Or perhaps you are good with computers and help others with that.
We are happy to think along with you about what is possible.
Skills and qualities
You are confident and think in terms of possibilities. Additionally, you enjoy interacting with people and are capable of building a relationship of trust.
