The community center at Van Houten is decorated by a creative group of local residents. Every Tuesday morning, we get to work together. We make decorations, preferably using as much waste material as possible or whatever we have been given. We use the decorations we make to decorate the building!
The group consists of approximately 8 people (men and women aged 18-70). Not everyone is there every week, and local residents are also welcome to join spontaneously. We value creativity and sociability!
We would like to move to two half-days a week, with one focused on decoration for the community center and the other day for further development. For example, workshops, art journaling, aimed at learning various techniques.
Tasks and duties
The creative group formed spontaneously. We have already established a little structure together, but we are still looking for someone who can help us with this.
What our morning looks like roughly now:
- Start together at 9:30 with a cup of coffee/tea
- Start creative/decorating at 10:00 AM
- 12:15 pm clean up
- 12:30 pm eating toasted sandwiches and soup together
Skills and qualities
What we expect from you is that you are present and join us for the morning kick-off. What we consider important is that it is clear what we are going to do (we certainly have input ourselves) and that there is attention for everyone present. Especially if someone is new, that they are welcomed properly.
And of course, contribute ideas regarding the extra morning/afternoon and take the lead in this.
We consider the following to be important qualities: being social and creative, and the ability to lead a group.
Additionally, we consider the reuse of materials important. We expect you to be creative with existing materials ;)
