For our project 'Autism is Versatile', we are looking for an autistic adult who is willing to review submitted blogs and prepare them for publication.
On our blog Autisme is Veelzijdig , we publish a new blog by an adult with autism every week. The goal of this project is to showcase the versatility of autism by letting different people with autism speak for themselves. All blogs are checked for spelling, style, and clarity. We are looking for an autistic adult who is willing to do this, together with another editor.
What are the tasks
- You will receive a blog post as a WORD document via email once every two weeks. You review this for spelling, style, and clarity. You send your feedback to the blogger via email.
- You prepare the final text of the blog on the website (in WordPress).
- You are in regular contact with the other editors and the coordinator via the project's WhatsApp group. You meet with them monthly via Teams.
Who are we looking for
- You have a good feel for language and are interested in reading and writing.
- You are reliable and stick to the agreements.
- You are somewhat proficient with computers and the internet (basic knowledge of WordPress is helpful, but you can also acquire this during the volunteer work).
- You can communicate functionally well via WhatsApp and email.
- You can provide feedback in a tactical way and negotiate with bloggers about the content of their blogs.
What is interesting about this volunteer work?
- You read a lot of blogs and learn a lot about how other people experience their autism.
- You contribute to better knowledge about autism in adults, from the perspective of people with autism themselves.
- You will become part of a team of more than 45 autistic adults. This way, you will get to know new people with autism. Our working methods are tailored to autistic characteristics.
- You can do this volunteer work from home, from anywhere in the Netherlands or Belgium. All contact takes place via email, WhatsApp, and Microsoft Teams.
