Interesting or nice about this vacancy

Do you want to build a place where growth, awareness, and connection take center stage? Are you the connecting factor who inspires and facilitates volunteers? Stichting EdanZ in Groningen is looking for an enthusiastic Volunteer Coordinator!

Who are we?

Since our move to the atmospheric old carpentry factory at Damsterdiep 293, we – together with a friendly team of volunteers and permanent tenants – have been creating a platform where everyone is welcome. Whether it involves dance nights, yoga classes, meditations, constellations, or connection workshops: EdanZ is buzzing. As Volunteer Coordinator, you are the driving force behind this diverse team.

Tasks and duties

What are you going to do?

As a volunteer coordinator, your core task is to guide and retain our volunteers. You ensure that they feel welcome and that their talents can be utilized to the best of their ability.

  • Guidance: You are the first point of contact, evaluate how they are doing, and ensure a safe and warm working environment.
  • Policy: There is no detailed volunteer policy in place yet. It is the board's task to establish this, but it would be great if you would like to (help) develop it. Afterwards, you will maintain this volunteer policy.
  • Connecting: You bring volunteers into contact with each other and strengthen the sense of group belonging.
  • Organization: You plan the deployment of volunteers for the various events and the daily operations in our building.

Skills and qualities

Who are we looking for?

  • You are a strong communicator, empathetic, and have an 'open mind'.
  • Ideally, you have experience coordinating or supervising volunteers (or similar experience), but with the first point above and your enthusiasm, you will already get a long way.
  • You are flexible and think in terms of possibilities: you see opportunities for development, both for the organization and for the volunteer.
  • You preferably live in Groningen or the surrounding area.
  • You identify with the core values of EdanZ: connection, meeting, personal growth, and hospitality.

Getting there

About EdanZ

EdanZ is a unique place in Groningen to meet, develop, grow, and work. Here, we work together as a community. You are welcome to join, for example by participating in workshops, but also by offering your talents and thus contributing to the growth of others and yourself. We are always open to new ideas and initiatives. Upon arrival, the atmosphere is perceived as very positive. A ‘family feeling’ and ‘coming home’ are words many visitors use to describe EdanZ. We see providing and creating the sense of belonging and feeling at home as our core priority. In this, we are supported by many volunteers and involved individuals who hold EdanZ (and everything created and offered) dear to their hearts. Would you like to become a volunteer to support our team? Then you are very welcome to come for an introduction.
