You gain invaluable life experience and can make a difference for a child or young person by giving your attention and time. During our basic training and in-depth sessions, you are prepared for potential dilemmas and difficult situations, and you share your beautiful and challenging experiences with other host families. A coordinator supports you with advice and practical help.
Tasks and duties
Can you make a difference for a child or young person (0 - 23 years) who needs a 'home in another home'? We are looking for host families who are willing to open their home and heart and give attention, time, and space.
A host family offers the opportunity for a child or young person to participate in daily family life. This concerns children who experience difficulties or stress in their home situation, or who are staying in an institution and lack a home. A host family can also offer support to a young refugee. This can be an afternoon a week, a weekend a month, a holiday week, or another period. This depends on what the family wishes to offer and what the child needs. The number of people in your household is not relevant.
Skills and qualities
We are looking for host families with an open mind and an affinity for children and/or young people, who are flexible and energetic.
