Together, we make Monday a great start to the week by writing a card for a neighbor.

Many people know the feeling: the alarm goes off, the weekend is over, and here it is again: Monday. The well-known Monday blues .

At MFC De Wijert & Helpman, we believe that a good start to the week can make all the difference.

That is why we are looking for enthusiastic volunteers for Buurtpost who want to support this new activity together with us. You are the familiar face on Monday mornings and ensure that everyone feels welcome.

Buurtpost is all about looking out for one another. A cup of coffee, a good conversation, and a small card can make a big difference. As a volunteer, you help make this morning a place where people enjoy dropping in.

What are you going to do?

On Monday mornings, you and other volunteers are the point of contact for visitors. You:

  • Receives local residents and ensures that everyone feels welcome.
  • Makes small talk and pays attention to the people who come in.
  • Provides coffee and tea and makes it a pleasant morning together.
  • Helps people write cards and explains how Buurtpost works.
  • Keep track of the records regarding the cards. For example, which cards have been written and where they can be sent.
  • Ensures that there are sufficient cards, envelopes, and writing materials available.
  • Keep an eye on which cards still need to be sent or delivered.
  • Contributes ideas regarding the activity and comes up with suggestions to make Monday mornings increasingly fun and meaningful.

You are an important link

As a volunteer, you are more than just someone who pours coffee. You help ensure that Buurtpost truly comes to life in the neighborhood. You see who comes in, make contact, and might even notice that someone needs an extra chat.

Together, we ensure that the cards are not only written but also actually reach someone. In doing so, you contribute to something very simple yet valuable: making sure people feel seen and connected.

We are therefore looking for someone who enjoys taking responsibility independently , but also likes working together with other volunteers.

You don't have to know everything already. We are building Buurtpost together and give you the space to think along, contribute ideas, and find your own role.

Would you like to help build a project where a small card can make a big difference for someone? Then we are looking for you!
