Do you have a heart for sustainability, coziness, and handiness with a sewing machine?
Then we are looking for you!
Broekzak Vestzak is a clothing sharing project, organized by and for residents of the De Wijert neighborhood.
At BZVZ, everyone can bring in and pick out clothing for free; you can even just pick something out!
This way, we give clothing a second life in the neighborhood and prevent waste. A real win-win!
Tasks and duties
What are you going to do?
On Wednesday afternoons, we offer a clothing repair service. Think of:
- A new zoom
- A loose knot
- A new zipper
- For a small price, you help make clothes wearable again.
Therefore, we are looking for someone who:
- Is handy with the sewing machine
- Likes helping others
- Enjoys working in a team
Would you also like to help sort clothes on other days? That is allowed, but the emphasis is on sewing on Wednesdays.
Skills and qualities
- Practical skills
- Able to sew (by hand, but preferably with a sewing machine)
- Can perform minor repairs, such as:
- Shorten or repair hems
- sewing on buttons
- repair small tears
- Basic knowledge of fabrics and clothing is a plus.
- Social skills
- Friendly and patient with visitors
- Able to work well in a team
- Open and helpful attitude
Additional information
When?
Trouser pocket Waistcoat pocket is open on:
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 13:00 to 16:00.
