Interesting or nice about this vacancy
You guide people through the International Clog Museum who have an image of clogs, but are surprised in this Museum.
You work as a volunteer in a very friendly team.
Tasks and duties
The International Clog Museum in Eelde is looking for volunteers who want to be trained in-house to become tour guides in this unique museum.
You first walk along with various tour guides, naturally reading up on the subject and asking plenty of questions.
After the training period, you will initially conduct tours yourself, together with a seasoned tour guide, to small groups of 10 people or more. Later, the groups can vary in size.
For larger groups, you also help the hostesses/hosts set up the tables and chairs in the coffee room.
Skills and qualities
We consider it important that:
- A tour guide is hospitable;
- He/she is skilled in communication and open;
- He/she is a storyteller, because that is what tour guides are;
- He/she is helpful because groups of people with walkers and wheelchairs also visit the Museum.
It would be nice if you were proficient in English, German, or French in addition to Dutch.
Additional information
There are no fixed times when you give tours.
Groups can arrive at 10:00 AM. You should be there one hour beforehand, together with the hostesses/hosts, to set everything up and check if everything is working.
Groups actually visit the Museum at varying times.
School classes, starting from groups 1-2, also visit the Museum.
