De Oude Bieb is looking for a supervisor for its crochet and knitting club, Get Hooked. This sociable group of crafters meets on Tuesday mornings from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM (and possibly on an evening to be scheduled in the future) at De Oude Bieb.

• You work together with a nice group of around 35 volunteers/people with a Participation Job and a Basic Job.
• You work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
• You will be trained by the current supervisor.
• As a supervisor, you have an important role; you are often the first point of contact for the participants.
• You are the one who ensures a pleasant atmosphere during the activity.
• Guidance and collaboration.
• In addition to your duties at Get Hooked, you will also be trained for another activity: as a hostess, in the thrift store De Biebshop, or as a cook.
• High degree of participation.
• 50% discount on products from our thrift store (up to 25 euros).
• Every year, there are festive volunteer gatherings to which you are invited.
• You receive an annual Christmas gift.

Tasks and duties

You will guide the crafters of Get Hooked together with the current supervisor. The club has a lot of fun together, but also holds serious discussions. As a supervisor, you must therefore be a good listener. And naturally, knowledge of crochet and knitting is a plus! The group currently has 14 members.
As a Get Hooked supervisor, these are your tasks:

• Guiding a friendly group of crafters, together with the other guide.
• Willing to delve into various crochet and knitting techniques and pass on your knowledge.
• Willing to have a chat with everyone and be sociable.
• Prepare coffee and tea before starting, and clean up afterwards and leave the room tidy.
• Organizing and catering a Christmas lunch at De Oude Bieb for the crafters of Get Hooked.
• Jointly making and sending packages with cuddly toys and blankets for Stichting Het Troostdekentje.

Skills and qualities

• You enjoy being creative and are (preferably) an experienced crafter.
• You also enjoy offering companionship and a listening ear to your neighbors.
• You are willing to develop and share your knowledge of and skills in various craft techniques.

• You work together with another supervisor from Get Hooked.
• Free participation in training courses, including Emergency Response (BHV).
