About Stichting Fablab Groningen
Fablab Groningen is a foundation supported by volunteers who want to foster a culture of collaboration in creation, sharing knowledge, and working towards sustainability in terms of manufacturability, circularity, and material use. Within the foundation, social and societal engagement take precedence over commerce and competition. Open source, knowledge sharing, sustainability, and encouraging people of all ages to further develop their creativity are the core values of our foundation.
Fablab Groningen is a digital workshop accessible to everyone where you can make (almost) anything and where people are encouraged to realize their creative ideas with the support of our various manufacturing techniques, such as computer-controlled "prototyping" machines, and where the open sharing of designs and ideas is encouraged. In addition to making our production resources available, we provide courses and training and offer coaching to people to give shape to their creative ideas. Our Fablab collaborates with the Noorderpoort Art and Multimedia branch, which is a huge boost for both parties.
Fablab Groningen is part of a worldwide organization of Makerspaces: The Fabfoundation.
