Interesting or nice about this vacancy

Do you enjoy working with young people inside and outside of education? Can you easily inspire, motivate, and connect? And would you enjoy talking to young people about tips and tricks regarding money? Then this vacancy is definitely for you!

  • You will learn more about guiding groups of young people.
  • You receive training and are coached throughout the entire period.
  • You help young people become more socially and financially resilient.
  • You expand your own social and professional network and develop yourself.

Tasks and duties

The Savings Lab is a type of savings circle, but specifically for young people aged 16 to 26. In small groups, members save for their own savings goal, explore their relationship with money, learn more about planning and budgeting, and actually start saving for something they really want. In short, it is a fun and educational experience that fosters a conscious financial mindset and provides skills that remain relevant for a lifetime!

As a savings lab facilitator, you help set up the savings lab at eye level with the young people. In the savings lab, you assist with making agreements, dividing tasks, and discussing everything that young people find important in their savings lab. You provide intensive guidance to the savings lab for at least 10 sessions while reviewing training material.

Skills and qualities

  • You are good at interacting and talking with young people, you are a good listener and can make clear agreements.
  • In addition, you stick to agreements, you can create a pleasant atmosphere, and you enjoy coaching at eye level.
  • Furthermore, you speak, read, and write Dutch well. It is also important that you enjoy doing math: addition and subtraction, with or without a calculator.

Additional information

Before you start the first savings lab, you will receive a two-day training course. At the start of the savings lab, and also afterwards during the guidance, we will help and coach you.

In addition, you will receive a volunteer contract. Your expenses will be reimbursed and you will receive a volunteer allowance. And after the savings circle period, if you have successfully guided a group, you will receive a certificate. That certificate can help you when you want to guide new savings circles or if you want to find other work.

We always start with an introductory meeting to see if we click.
